ABSTRACT
Newcastle disease (ND) is one of the most important avian viral diseases because of its high economic impact on the poultry industry.  Newcastle disease is now claimed to be responsible for 70-80% of annual death in village chickens. Losses in hundreds of poultry birds of various ages and sexes in Anyigba Kogi State of Nigeria is attributed to the disease. The prevalence is always at its peak during the dry season (Harmattan) of every year in the last decade. The result of this study showed that all the 180 sera samples collected from the unvaccinated indigenous village chicks contained antibody of 8 to 128.
